Who doesn’t love NOLA (New Orleans, Louisiana)? If you were lucky enough to grow up in NOLA, you have years of beautiful memories of one of the most unique cities in the US. If you are one of the millions who have visited NOLA, you know how special the city is and have wonderful memories.
I was lucky enough to grow up in New Orleans, as was my father. One of my favorite memories with my father was all of our trips to the Audubon Zoo. Even when I would come home during my college visits…we always went to the zoo. College friends that came home with me loved walking around the zoo and taking one of his tours through the French Quarter because he was so knowledgeable about everything. They would call him a walking encyclopedia (for those of you younger then 40ish…these were very thick books that contain information we now use Wikipedia for). My father loved reading, animals, history and his homecity New Orleans. He has left a big whole in my heart as he past away last spring. As a mother now, of two year old identical twin boys, passing on the lessons, experiences and traditions my parents gave me has reached a whole new level of importance.
